ProModul is a Norwegian SaaS company providing project management software for construction and engineering teams. The platform supports planning, tracking, documentation, workforce coordination, safety, and compliance across complex multi-project environments, and is used daily by construction companies across Norway.

The Challenge

When we joined the project, ProModul was built on a heavy legacy foundation with a growing number of technical and product limitations.
 
From a business perspective, several critical capabilities required by the Norwegian construction industry were missing or unreliable. This directly limited the platform’s ability to compete and scale.
 
The main challenges included:
  • Unstable and heavy legacy modules
  • Missing integrations with key Norwegian accounting systems (Tripletex and PowerOffice Go)
  • No digital Forms and Procedures system required for Norwegian HMS (HSE) compliance
  • Lack of Time Bank functionality, which is a standard labor requirement in Norway
  • No worker certification management (forklift, machinery, safety training, etc.)
  • Limited document and image management, despite heavy reliance on visual reporting in construction workflows
  • No system-wide action logging and traceability
  • Outdated UX compared to industry competitors

Our Solution

We modernized and extended the existing ProModul platform by introducing new business-critical modules and stabilizing core system components.
Our work focused on aligning the product with real construction workflows and Norwegian regulatory requirements, while improving usability, automation, and data traceability.
The result is a scalable, compliance-ready project management system designed specifically for construction operations.

Key Solution Components:

  • Implemented configurable digital forms that administrators can assign to employees for structured data collection.
  • Built a procedures module that allows safety policies and operational guidelines to be assigned to workers and acknowledged as read.
  • Introduced a Norway-compliant time bank for managing overtime and accrued working hours.
  • Integrated ProModul with Tripletex and PowerOffice Go to synchronize projects, employees, dates, and statuses.
  • Implemented a structured internal file system per company to organize and manage project documentation.
  • Added image editing, drawing, labeling, and visual markup tools to support inspections and reporting.
  • Enhanced time tracking to support multiple projects, attachments, comments, and administrative approval workflows.
  • Added project-level archives and activity histories with timestamps and change tracking.
  • Enabled the export of reports, checklists, forms, and procedures as signed PDF files with email delivery.
  • Implemented a system to track worker certifications, expiration dates, and related documentation.
  • Introduced video-based inspections with transcription and automatically generated reports using AI.
